ordyline australis ‘Charlie Boy’ PBR is a striking new variety for your garden or patio container. With its richly coloured leaves in burgundy and pink it is a sensational feature plant.  In addition to its colour feature ‘Charlie Boy’ is a tough and resilient garden plant. Cordyline ‘Charlie Boy’ PBR has developed as a seedling from Cordyline australis. In garden trials in Ireland it has outperformed other varieties for its robustness, especially regarding trunk stability.
Leaf: Variegated leaves with a burgundy central stripe and bright pink margins
Size: 2.5m H x 1.0m S/Trunk forming
Flower: White on mature plants during summer
Perferred Location: Plant or put in a container in a sheltered location with full sun while establishing. In containers ‘Charlie Boy’ can be moved to an exposed part of your patio once the plant has established. In the garden initial shelter is required to aid establishment. Cordyline ‘Charlie Boy’ will thrive in most reasonably sheltered garden locations
Water & Nutrition: Feed in March/April with Scotts slow release fertilizer
Likes: Locations in full sun or partial shade / Suits most soil conditions
Dislikes: Water logged soil and temperatures below -8°C
Presentation Ideas: In black stylish Terratzo pots this plant can really look stunning and show the pots off to best effect. When planting in the garden plant with back drop of other bold wide leaved foliage plants such as Fatsia japonica ‘Variegata’ and underplant with the plain green foliage of Liriope muscari ‘Moneymaker’ or the black mondo grass Ophiopogon planiscapus ‘Nigrescens’
